"Inès Bressand is a designer who represents a simple and unfettered approach. Her artisanal, considerate practice results in objects that are minimal and eclectic; always with a sensitively applied playful twist. Her preoccupation with nature and the human condition are the fundamental qualities that make up the meaning of her work. She works in an undefined process where a cross-fertilization of cultures, art and craft knowledge is the inspiration. Hand-guided research, handling of materials and simple sketches are the means she uses to develop ideas and she prefers these to solutions developed on the computer. She feels more comfortable in an artisan's studio or a women's workshop than in a design studio, where she enters into a fruitful dialogue with an attitude of respect and appreciation. She considers traditional objects to be masterpieces of design. She considers it a privilege to collaborate with great artisans through careful observation and to use rudimentary and accessible technical methods to solve problems while developing concepts together."
