• The indigo used here is the seventh color of the rainbow and offers amazing color depth. Blue textiles dyed with indigotine are known from the city of Mohenjo-Daro in the Indus Valley, while indirubin red can be seen on Mayan frescoes and statues in Central America.
  In Africa, women dye their skin and hair deep black with indigotine.
  At the same time, indigo also has incredible biological properties. Indigo leaves contain a basic indigo molecule called "indican". The colors that can be achieved through vegetable dyeing range from black to a light blue known as "crow's eye blue".
