Facts

  • Why choose a natural perfume like Abel?
Simply because natural ingredients are chosen for their olfactory beauty and their therapeutic, mood-enhancing properties. But that's not all, of course! If you care about the environment, your fellow human beings and your own health, then Abel is a fantastic and safe alternative to the synthetic fragrances available on the market. Most synthetic fragrance molecules are synthesized from petroleum, a non-renewable resource. Some of these molecules are not biodegradable and accumulate in the food chain, the environment and our bodies. Every single ingredient in every Abel perfume started life as a plant, so it is easily biodegradable and can be returned to our ecosystem. The fragrances consist exclusively of essential oils, extracts and plant-based fragrance molecules in a base of organically certified food-grade grain alcohol. So simple, so obvious! Abel Odor attach great importance to complete transparency, you can read the origin of each individual ingredient in the ingredient list.
  • Why are there residues in my perfume?
Like a natural wine, Abel does not filter their perfumes, neither with a physical membrane filter (which dilutes and alters the profile of the perfumes) nor with chemical filters. Sometimes, after a certain period of time, sediment can form in the bottle. This is nothing to worry about and does not affect the shelf life of the perfume or the fragrance profile, it is simply a natural reaction that has taken place.
  • Are there any fragrances in the collection that are more masculine/feminine?
The entire collection is gender neutral. If you are looking for a more traditional feminine scent, we recommend Pink Iris. Cyan Nori and Green Cedar are extremely gender neutral.

Application

  • Does a 100% natural perfume stay on the skin?
Yes. Abel have done a lot of research to ensure their perfumes last on the skin. However, some scents last longer than others. Golden Neroli is a floral citrus scent that fades faster than the others. Pink Iris is a denser floral musk scent and has amazing staying power. Cobalt Amber is also a longer lasting option.
  • How can I extend the shelf life of the perfume?
Moisturize your skin (with a fragrance-free cream or oil) before applying your perfume, as the drier the skin, the faster it will absorb the fragrance oils. Perfume applied to hair and/or clothing will last longer than perfume applied to the skin. Applying perfume to pulse points will also warm the scent and release it better. Keep in mind that if you apply perfume near your nose (e.g. on your neck), you will quickly become desensitized to the constant smell, so while others will smell your perfume, you will not in the long run.
