LOUCIL was founded by bioengineer and perfumer Simon Van Cauwenberge and pharmacist Alexander De Marez. Together with renowned experts in perfumery, chemistry, and neurology, the brand explores the connection between scent, the brain, and well-being.

At its core is the belief that scents can do much more than just smell good. Through their direct connection to the limbic system, they influence emotions, memories, and mental states. Based on scientific findings, LOUCIL develops functional fragrance compositions that can be consciously integrated into everyday life, combining aesthetics and effect.

The founding team is supported by the internationally renowned master perfumer and chemist Christophe Laudamiel, one of the most innovative perfumers of his generation, and neurologist Dr. Chris Van der Linden, who guides the brand's scientific direction.

LOUCIL combines neuroscience and perfumery with the aim of making the effect of scent understandable and tangible in everyday life – without mysticism, but based on scientific insights.
