Andrée Jardin is a traditional brush manufacturer based in the Nantes region of France since 1947. From the very beginning, their artisanal work has stood for products that respect the environment, are beautiful and functional and express the French art of living.
It all began when the Brosserie Pechon brush factory in Nantes closed in 1947 and Georges-René Julio lost his job. He decided to set up his own business with his wife Andrée Jardin at 167 Rue des Hauts Pavés in Nantes.
First, they buy horsehair from local slaughterhouses and process it into all kinds of brushes and mattresses. From this point on, the selection of the raw material is an essential aspect of the business.
Today, Andrée Jardin is a company that is proud to keep this French tradition alive. Andrée Jardin has been awarded the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company) label, an official French label awarded under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance to reward French companies with excellent artisanal and industrial know-how.
The selection of natural raw materials and the artisanal production of the brushes at Andrée Jardin are based on the experience of several generations and result in an exceptional quality. The desire is to develop objects from natural materials, far from mass-produced plastic products.
